What is Kokum Butter?

  • Kokum Butter is a less common alternative to your more common "butters" used for skincare products - Shea, Cocoa, etc.
  • It is made from oil derived from the seeds of a Kokum tree - primarily found in tropical areas of India
  • It's rich in nutrients - fatty acids, vitamin E & more 
  • Its chemical makeup allows it to remain solid at room temperature - making it a more hard butter that melts easily when rubbed together in your hands and applied to the skin
  • It's best known to be a lighter weight moisturizing agent for skin 
  • It isn't very heavy and therefore doesn't leave a greasy feeling on skin post application & doesnt clog pores (unlike other plant-based butters like Shea & Cocoa)
  • It's known to help: inflamed skin (from cuts & burns), reduce signs of aging, treat acne, skin cell regeneration, treat sensitive skin & more etc.
